Why Do We Celebrate Valentine's Day?
I suppose there is some long ago fable about cupid or some Christian story about a Saint who married people secretly and was executed for doing so. Or more than likely it was a Roman ritual that has been converted into a Christian holiday and then a commercial retail idea to sell cards. Whatever the origin which I bet you can find on Wikipedia. One thing for sure is valentine’s day whether you’re a believer or cynic. It makes you feel good to receive an anonymous love note and not have the faintest idea who sent it.
I mean not the one’s your mother sends you to make you feel better. Or ones you have to write in school, I mean the dirty sexy one’s that make butterflies appear in your stomach and heat burn your loins. The ones where you have to get your vibrator out to read it again. This is why we celebrate valentine’s day, the mystery, the sexiness and the naughtiness. What other reason could there be to celebrate a day. Why it’s really the best holiday of them all, forget the commercial cards, roses and little stuffed devils. Think about the mystery, the romance, sexy games and the sex. This is why we celebrate valentine’s day.
